Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Preserve
The Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Preserve is the site of Maui's last lava flow, in 1790. Rugged terrain offers a unique and challenging hiking experience. Crystal clear water off the coast makes for excellent snorkling opportunities. No fishing or disturbing wildlife is allowed in this park.

This state wayside park is found off Hana Highway about 38 miles east of Kahului Airport. This five acre park features a few public amenities such as restrooms, picnic areas and telephones. A few waterfalls and natural pools dot the area. |

The park serves a primary purpose of preserving the features of the Haleakala Crater, as well as the ecosystems of Kipahulu Valley, many endangered species and the pools along Oheo Gulch.
